GRACE welcomes our new Special Events Coordinator, Mary Tejada!
Mary’s passion has been event planning since she could remember. Having been a part of a big family since she was a little girl, hostess is a role she took on at an early age.
Before taking on her role at GRACE, Mary was a Sr. Administrative Assistant and Health Fair Coordinator for Texas Health Resources in Ft. Worth for over two decades. Here she assisted with many health fairs and community events for the hospital.
Mary came to GRACE about month before the 2021 GRACE “angels among us” Gala, and automatically had an endless list of tasks to be taken care of. She credits Director of Community Engagement, CiCi Cates, whom she inherited the role from, for being a great guide and helping her transition into the new role. Mary’s role in the GRACE Gala helped prepare her for many spectacular events that GRACE puts on- it would all be a cake-walk after that!
Mary’s relationship with her colleagues is very special. She treats her GRACE family like she would her own family by offering any kind of help and support in any situation. Grant Writer Kristina Davis says, “More than anything, I’ve appreciated the energy and positivity Mary brings to every event. She’s the type of person who, no matter how long the to-do list, you can be confident she will not only get it done but do it better than before.” From the moment she stepped through the GRACE doors, there was a sense of calm, because Mary is someone you can trust to make things happen.
When Mary looks back at the final product of an event, she is blessed to see everyone come together as a team to complete the goal of helping serve the community and to have fun while doing it. Her goal at every GRACE function is to “make it even better than the last”- she never does anything halfway.
Mary, we feel so lucky to have you on the team, and we welcome you into your role as the Special Events Manager for GRACE. Your vibrant and warm personality brings a smile to everyone’s face when you walk into a room. Look for Mary at the upcoming Poker Tournament!
