GRACE has been helping individuals and families who find themselves short on food since its inception in 1987. Although the method of food service delivery has changed with GRACE adopting a self-select model in 2006, the importance of making sure the community we serve has sufficient food available to them has remained unchanged. Until the primary basic needs are met, other movement towards self-sufficiency is hindered as the Maslow Hierarchy of Needs illustrates. GRACE hopes that by helping people with their basic needs they can expend their energy on higher-level focus that could help them be their best self. Currently, the GRACE Pantry is fulfilling nutritional assistance for about 500 visits per month. We assume that these numbers will increase as the price of everything, it seems, is increasing at an alarming rate. The summer months are always a lean time for the GRACE Pantry. Many organizations and individuals think

Volunteers, organizations, and departments from all over the community will pitch in to help out in any capacity in order to make this year’s Feed Our Kids another successful one. Tuesday kicked off with each site serving over 35 lunches to children. By the end of the week, each site served approximately 2457 lunches to children across the community. The Grapevine Police Department came out to serve earlier this week. Along with giving out lunch, they also provided different games for the kids to play such as Connect Four, JENGA, and Cornhole. “We are having an amazing time serving lunches to many families in the community,” said Grapevine Police Officer Patrick O’Neal. “To be able to find more opportunities to serve the community like the GRACE Feed Our Kids program is why we do what

Whether it’s through volunteerism or transforming their garage into an amazing venue for a GRACE event, their work does not go unnoticed throughout the community. One of the ways they show their support is through Share the Love. Share the Love is an annual event that is put on by many Subaru retailers across the nation, intending to have customers donate to four national charities, and pick an organization in their local area. GRACE has been a proud recipient of Share the Love in the past, and this year it wasn’t different. Last week, Five Star Subaru presented GRACE with a check of last year’s results of Share the Love. We are excited to say that through Five Star Subaru’s event, GRACE received $32,000 that will go towards GRACE programs and clients’ needs. “This event

For many years GRACE has partnered with many different organizations and groups to meet the needs of the community. Some ways have included volunteering at GRACE sites and programs. Others have been hosting clothes, food, and toy drives, with all of the items going towards GRACE clients and programs. In the past businesses and groups have shown their support by hosting sponsored events. Some of those include our local Mooyah Burgers, Fries, and Shakes in Colleyville. They partnered with GRACE to donate a portion of opening week sales to our organization. Another event was hosted by the members of Light of the World Church. At the request of Senior Pastor, Greg Beutel, Light of the World Church members brought

Grant Writer, Kristina Davis, Operations Manager, LaMon Walker, and Food Pantry Manager, Marcus Miranda, are all graduating from Leadership Grapevine. Leadership Grapevine is a program of the city of Grapevine and the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce that offers an educational experience designed to develop an awareness of the city, its relationship with the DFW Metroplex and to provide personal leadership training. This year’s class included 30 individuals who had the opportunity to experience the behind the scenes look of the city of Grapevine. From visiting the Gaylord to speaking with the City Manager, these individuals learned much from this nine-month program. “Leadership Grapevine was a unique experience,” said Kristina. “I got to see the behind-the-scenes operations of, what I think, is the best city
