How to Volunteer With GRACE!

Do you ever wonder how volunteering benefits GRACE? Volunteers are so important to a non-profit in many ways. They boost visibility for the non-profit and they become advocates for the mission. Volunteers can increase the impacts of a cause and save the non-profit money. In regard to saving money, by donating time, volunteers are directly saving resources for GRACE. Every hour that you give to our community through volunteerism is an hour that the community gains back in real dollars. The national rate for an hour of volunteering is currently estimated to be $31.80/hr. Those dollars can then be spent in other ways that serve and better the community! What GRACE especially loves about our volunteers is the diversity of people and skills that are brought to our programs and our events. This truly helps better our community. Without volunteers, the GRACE mission is just words on paper. The volunteers

2023 North Texas Giving Day is Approaching!

Each year, our community participates in North Texas Giving Day an online event created to support the many non-profits and the work they do to meet needs across North Texas. A month from now, on September 21st, GRACE will stand alongside our community of incredible non-profits and ask for your support. By choosing GRACE, your generosity will provide stability, encourage self-sufficiency, and bring compassion and assistance to those who so desperately need it. For many years now, GRACE has offered a safety net of support and a continuum of care to families facing financial hardship. So often our clients are undercut by an illness, loss of a job, decreased work hours, car repair, accident, or some other incident that amounts to a devastating financial crisis. As we launch our 37th year of service, we look back on our accomplishments, but we are also keenly aware of the work that lies

Transitional Housing Gets a Refresh from Pegasus Logistics

The Transitional Housing site is looking a little more fresh and new after a volunteer group from Pegasus Logistics did some hard work last week! This group of eager helpers worked to install new screen doors on five units, installed Ring doorbells on all units, cleaned two empty units from top to bottom, and removed trash from around the property!  “They all had beautiful spirits,” said Martisha Smith, Transitional Housing Manager, “and after all of the work that they completed, they came back to ask if there was anything else that we needed.”  Her statement reflects on all of our wonderful volunteers that dedicate their time to all things GRACE – including projects like these! The new doorbells provide an extra sense of security, and the clean units are ready to welcome new clients. Removal of trash and new doors helps the space look clean and refreshed. It’s the little

2023 Back to School Fair a Success!

Last Saturday, on August 5th, GRACE participated in the annual Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Back to School Fair at 121 Community Church! Over the last couple of months, we have been collecting backpacks full of school supplies for this fair, and as a result were able to distribute 24 backpacks to students in need! Hundreds more will continue to be given to families that visit GRACE Client Services. Each year, this event is planned for school-aged children whose families are experiencing financial hardship and/or qualify for free or reduced lunch. Pre-registered families were able to receive a number of valuable resources before their children return to school later this month. Along with the backpacks and school supplies, GRACE was also able to distribute clothing items such as socks and underwear to hundreds of students for the new school year! We couldn’t do it alone! We had a lot of volunteers who stepped
