Getting Creative In Giving Back

Our community is unmatched! Admittedly we are biased, but we wanted to take a moment to highlight how incredibly blessed we at GRACE are to be surrounded by a community that supports our mission in the most creative ways through program-specific drives and fun events. Each drive and every event raises awareness for GRACE programs and oftentimes gathers support or items that in turn are given directly to families who are in need. Creating an event or hosting a drive are unique ways that local businesses, churches, civic organizations, and community groups can engage their employees/members in team building while supporting our mission by gathering food and clothing, or encouraging financial contributions. For example: Earlier this month, the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. held a supply drive, collecting essentials like diapers, laundry detergent, and cooking oil for the GRACE Food Pantry after checking our most urgent needs list.

GRACE Volunteer Appreciation Lunch: You Make the “Perfect Recipe”

Are you ready for a celebration so sweet that a dentist might be needed? Mark your calendars and join us for GRACE’s 2025 Volunteer Luncheon on Friday, April 4th at White’s Chapel Methodist Church, where we celebrate the crem de la crem of our volunteers! Last year, we celebrated the Rock Star Volunteers that make up GRACE. So, this year we decided to name those special ingredients that make up The Perfect Recipe of a GRACE Volunteer. Sure, every ice cream sundae is sweet – but let’s be honest, we need those nuts along with the whipped cream to make it something special! With a celebration this decadent, the staff at GRACE decided to spread the love – thick as hot fudge – all month long, naming March, “VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION MONTH!” Be on the lookout at your favorite places to serve for some amazing site parties. Molly Maid Cleans for the GRACE Cause

The Ms. Molly Foundation has partnered with GRACE for over 15 years to support our Mentorship Housing program. We are the sole recipient of foundation funds designated by Molly Maid of DFW Metro Northwest. $0.10 of every cleaning that the staff of this office does goes to support GRACE. For perspective, the total amount of support received this year, as you can see, was over $2,500. The generosity of this incredible staff is overwhelming, and it’s gifts like this that truly highlight the role GRACE plays not just in the lives of our clients, but in the hearts of our surrounding community. Franchise owner Katrina Keith is always thrilled to connect with and serve GRACE in whatever capacity possible. She has donated the time and services of her team multiple times throughout our years of partnership including cleaning the Mentorship Housing apartments to make them ready for new residents and

Filling in the Gap

GRACE exists for the unexpected. Unfortunately, for many of our neighbors living paycheck to paycheck, they are just one sudden life event like an unexpected diagnosis or major repair away from financial hardship. In January, one of GRACE’s care managers met with a client who came seeking rental assistance. A recent diagnosis of cervical stenosis (a narrowing of the spinal canal in the neck leading to nerve pain) had been severe enough to require surgery, and his recovery was not going according to plan. His healing process was labored with extreme pain, preventing him from working for the span of three months. Unfortunately, this left his wife as the only source of income for the household, earning only $10 an hour. He expressed the stress and difficulty this placed on their family as she worked, took care of him, and looked after their four children during his slow journey to

Meet the New Volunteer & Seasonal Programs Coordinator

Welcome Deb Ebeling, GRACE’s new Volunteer and Seasonal Programs Coordinator! GRACE is thrilled to announce that Deb Ebeling has taken on a new role at GRACE: Volunteer and Seasonal Programs Coordinator! Deb will play a vital role in coordinating all volunteer activities for GRACE, including the GRACE Feed Our Kids program and the beloved GRACE Christmas Cottage. Deb’s connection to GRACE began in November 2023, when she started volunteering several times a week in the Food Pantry. “I quickly learned about Christmas Cottage and found myself there almost daily,” Deb shared. “I loved both experiences!” Growing up, Deb dreamed of becoming a mom and a lawyer. After considering the time and cost of law school, she earned her paralegal certificate, married, and joyfully embraced motherhood. “I don’t think I could have imagined what God had in store for me!” she reflected. Describing herself as outgoing, kind, and blessed, Deb’s passion

A New Year of Volunteer Opportunities

GRACE’s new online volunteer hub is LIVE! If you have not already joined us on VOLY, we encourage you to sign up today—we’ll be there to guide you through the process! GRACE deeply values our volunteers. A Thank You Note from GRACE Client

I am in tears right now as I write this. This morning, I had the incredible opportunity to select items for my daughters from the Christmas Cottage, and the experience was absolutely amazing. There were so many wonderful items to choose from, and I know my girls will absolutely love them. I have never been in a situation like this before, unable to provide gifts for my girls for Christmas, so this moment means more to me than words can express. I truly wanted to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help and support. Thank you for being a blessing in our lives. Sincerely, Ms. Grace* 2024 was particularly devastating for Ms. Grace and was filled with unimaginable loss with the murder of her brother and the passing of her grandmother. As she was living with her grandmother and depending on
